What can be more pleasant than and recollecting some past events from your lives or telling exciting stories? It is so wonderful when all the family members come from different parts of the city or even world to spend time with their relatives. Usually it happens on holidays, as they can be days off and it is a tradition for some holidays to gather together. Such holidays are called family ones and usually they are similar in different countries, though there can be some exceptions. As for me, I think that family holidays are Christmas, New Year, Easter and Birthdays. In spite of a different origin they are celebrated in the family circle, but of course, some close friends can be also invited.

Что может быть приятнее, чем посидеть в семейном кругу и покушать вкусные блюда, вспоминая некоторые прошлые события из вашей жизни или рассказывая увлекательные истории? Это так замечательно, когда все члены семьи съезжаются из разных уголков города или даже мира, чтобы провести время со своими родственниками. Обычно это происходит на праздники, так как они могут быть выходными днями и для некоторых праздники собираться вместе это традиция. Такие праздники называются семейными, и, как правило, они схожи в разных странах, хотя там могут быть некоторые исключения. Что касается меня, я думаю, что семейные праздники – это Рождество, Новый Год, Пасха и дни рождения. Несмотря на различное происхождение, они празднуются в семейном кругу, но, конечно, некоторые близкие друзья могут быть также приглашены.

Christmas is the first and the most widely known family holiday all over the world. different dates for its celebration because of some religious views, it does not change the way it is celebrated in many countries. The whole family gathers in one place around the table and welcomes . They sing songs, discuss some topics, eat and drink. It is also a great tradition to give presents for this holiday, as children adore finding them in red stockings over the fireplace or under the fir-tree. Different countries serve different food for this holiday. The Americans cook turkey with vegetables, the Germans bake sweet Christmas biscuits, while the Eastern European countries have their own customs and traditions. We are used to cooking twelve dishes, the main one is kutya, sit at the table with the appearance of the first star in the sky and congratulate others singing carols. It is one of the most important days of the year, so everyone is always looking forward to it.

Рождество-это первый и наиболее широко известный семейный праздник во всем мире. Хотя существуют различные даты для его празднования, из-за некоторых религиозных взглядов, это не изменяет способ, как его отмечают во многих странах. Вся семья собирается в одном месте вокруг стола и приветствует рождение Христа. Они поют песни, обсуждают какие-то темы, едят и пьют. Также замечательной традицией является возможность дарить подарки на этот праздник, так как дети обожают находить их в красных чулках над камином или под елкой. В разных странах подают различные блюда на этот праздник. Американцы готовят индейку с овощами, немцы пекут сладкие Рождественские печенья, в то время как восточноевропейские страны имеют свои обычаи и традиции. Мы привыкли готовить двенадцать блюд, основным из которых является кутья, садится за стол с появлением первой звезды в небе и поздравлять других колядками. Это один из самых важных дней в году, поэтому каждый всегда с нетерпением ждет его.

Another popular family holiday is New Year. It is celebrated on December, 31, when people welcome the coming of the next year. Usually many preparations take place before the holiday. People stand in long queues in order to buy products for their New Year tables and spend long hours in front of the cooker or oven some exotic dishes. Our New Year holiday is associated with champagne, fireworks and one famous salad called Olivier, sometimes accompanied by TV programs. When the clock strikes twelve, people cheer and make wishes. They are happy to forget past offences and misunderstandings and start the new one with everything good.

Еще один популярный семейный праздник-это Новый Год. Он отмечается 31 декабря, когда люди приветствуют приход следующего года. Как правило, многие приготовления проходят перед праздником. Люди стоят в длинных очередях для того, чтобы купить продукты для своих новогодних столов и проводят долгие часы перед плитой или духовкой, чтобы приготовить экзотические блюда. Наш праздник Новый Год ассоциируется с шампанским, фейерверками и одним известным салатом под названием Оливье, иногда в сопровождении ТВ программы. Когда часы пробьют двенадцать, люди радуются и загадывают желания. Они рады забыть прошлые обиды и недоразумения в предыдущем году и начать новый со всем добром.

Easter is a Christian holiday, when people celebrate . It is always a day off, so taking place in spring all the family members try to spend it in nature. Forty days before the holiday people have to follow lent. So it is not surprising for Easter so much. This holiday also has some preparations to be made. All the hostesses bake Easter bread and paint eggs in different colors. In the evening or in the morning of the next day they go to the church. Then the family tries to spend together all the day celebrating and treating others with their pastry. In Germany there is one more tradition for children. They have an Easter rabbit, which hides eggs from children and they look for them everywhere. Easter is a perfect holiday for a family as it has some unique atmosphere and special family traditions.

Затем семья старается проводить вместе весь день праздновать и угощать других своей выпечкой. В Германии существует еще одна традиция для детей. У них есть Пасхальный кролик, который прячет яйца от детей и они ищут их повсюду. Пасха-это прекрасный праздник для семьи, так как имеет определенную неповторимую атмосферу и особые семейные традиции.

One more holiday to invite your near and dear relatives is your birthday. Though with time fewer adult people celebrate it with the members of the family, state that birthdays of kids and elderly people are always visited by them. Who can make a kid happier than beloved grannies, , aunts, and cousins? They bring huge presents, hug, kiss and play with him or her. The same situation is with elderly people. They do not need posh restaurants, cafes or expensive presents: is the presence of children, grandchildren and other close people. So birthday is a holiday that deserves a title of a family one. No matter how old you are, you will be disappointed if someone from your family forgets about your holiday, and you would be very thankful to those your relatives, who found a minute and a penny to congratulate you.

Еще один праздник для приглашения ваших родных и близких - это ваш день рождения. Хотя со временем все меньше взрослых людей празднуют его с членами семьи, но я должна констатировать, что дни рождения детей и пожилых людей всегда ими посещаются. Кто может сделать малыша счастливее, чем любимые бабушки, дяди, тети, двоюродные сестры и братья? Они приносят огромные подарки, обнимают, целуют и играют с ним или с ней. Такая же ситуация и с пожилыми людьми. Им не нужны шикарные рестораны, кафе или дорогие подарки: единственное их желание-это присутствие детей, внуков и других близких людей. Так что День рождения - это праздник, который заслуживает название семейного. Неважно, сколько вам лет, вы будете разочарованы, если кто-то из семьи забывает о вашем празднике, и вы бы очень были благодарны тем вашим близким, кто нашел минутку и копейку, чтоб поздравить вас.

Family holidays are not only an opportunity to celebrate a particular date, but also a possibility to unite all the family members. The more they meet and communicate the closer and more important they become to each other. Do not look for a special day to visit your relatives, as you have a chance .

Семейные праздники – это не только повод отметить конкретную дату, но и возможность объединить всех членов семьи. Чем больше они общаются, тем ближе и важнее они становятся друг к другу. Не надо искать особый день, чтобы навестить ваших родственников, так как у вас есть шанс превратить каждый день в семейный праздник.

Family traditions

In every family there are different traditions. Family traditions help people to feel themselves part of the whole, strengthen the family unity and simply to enjoy happy memories. I think that the moments spent in the circle of your family are the most precious.
We have a great tradition in our family. On May Day we usually go to the country where my grandparents live and spend there our days off. I often help my grandma with gardening or go fishing with my granddad. We love to make up picnics. My father usually cooks Russian fish soup and grilled vegetables. We often sit up late at night and look through our family albums. I can sit for hours studying each image and recalling life events. It is so touching. If it is summer, on weekends we go to the river to sunbathe and swim. We play beach volleyball or badminton. To tell the truth, I like to "unite" with the nature. As for me, I can spend hours staring at the water. At night we often build a fire and sing to a guitar. At these moments I feel the happiest person in the world.
Another family tradition is decorating our New Year tree with ornaments, tinsel and candles. As I am fond of handicrafts, I usually make scrapbooks of our celebrations. My mother usually makes New Year"s tree decorations and it definitely adds a special festive touch to the New Year decor. Besides, we usually celebrate New Year at home, in the circle of our family. I get up early in the morning and help my mom to cook a festive supper. It is a tradition in our country to have a certain menu for this holiday. Usually it is a baked goose, a famous Russian salad called Olivier, jellied minced meat and, of course, champagne. Then I go into my room to put my gala dress on. Sometimes my mom asks me to help her lay the table. When all preparations are behind, we watch TV and wait for our guests to come. When the Kremlin chimes strike twelve times, all of us make wishes, hold glasses of champagne and wish each other Happy New Year. Children usually receive long-awaited presents from Grandfather Frost and Snow Maiden. Besides, New Year fireworks are must-have for this holiday.
Frankly speaking, I love all holidays but my birthday is my favorite one. My parents usually wake me up early in the morning with a nice song "Happy birthday, dear Sophia" and give me their presents and flowers. We always invite guests to our place and make fun. We sing songs, dance and play games. Then, suddenly, all the light goes out and my parents bring a very nice cake with burning candles. I make my wish and blow out all candles. In the end of the party all of us come outside and set off fireworks.

В каждой семье есть различные традиции, которые помогают укрепить единство семьи, почувствовать себя частью целого, и попросту насладиться счастливыми воспоминаниями. Я считаю, что моменты, проведенные в кругу семьи, самые ценные.
В нашей семье есть отличная традиция: на майские праздники мы обычно уезжаем в деревню, где живут мои бабушка и дедушка, и проводим там все выходные. Я часто помогаю своей бабушке ухаживать за огородом или хожу на рыбалку с дедушкой. Мы любим устраивать пикники. Мой папа обычно готовит уху и овощи на гриле. Мы обычно засиживаемся допоздна, просматривая семейные фотоальбомы. Я лично могу часами изучать каждую фотографию и вспоминать былые времена. Это так трогательно.
Если это лето, то по выходным мы ездим на реку, чтобы позагорать и искупаться. Мы играем в пляжный волейбол или бадминтон. По правде говоря, мне нравится сливаться с природой. Лично я могу часами смотреть на воду. Ночью мы часто разводим костер и поем песни под гитару. В такие моменты я чувствую себя самым счастливым человеком в мире.
Еще одна наша семейная традиция связана с украшением новогодней елки игрушками, мишурой и свечами. Поскольку я люблю делать поделки своими руками, я обычно делаю памятные декоративные альбомы, в которые вклеиваю фотографии празднования Нового года. А моя мама обычно изготавливает праздничные елочные игрушки, что вносит особый штрих в новогодний декор. Кроме того, у нас есть традиция отмечать этот праздник дома, в кругу семьи. Я обычно просыпаюсь рано утром и помогаю маме готовить праздничный ужин. В нашей стране есть даже особое традиционное меню для этого праздника, включающее запеченного гуся, известный салат оливье, холодец и, конечно же, шампанское. Затем я иду в свою комнату, чтобы переодеться в праздничный наряд. Иногда моя мама просит меня помочь ей накрыть стол. Когда все приготовления остаются позади, мы смотрим телевизор и ждем прихода гостей. Когда куранты бьют двенадцать часов, мы все поднимаем бокалы с шампанским и желаем друг другу счастливого Нового года. Дети обычно получают долгожданные подарки от Деда Мороза и Снегурочки. Кроме того, в Новый год есть излюбленная традиция фейерверков.
Честно говоря, я люблю все праздники, но мой день рождения - это самый любимый. Мои родители обычно будят меня рано утром песней «С днем рождения, София» и дарят подарки и цветы. Мы обычно приглашаем гостей и веселимся: поем песни, танцуем и играем в игры. Затем неожиданно гаснет везде свет, и мои родители выносят очень красивый праздничный торт с горящими свечами. Я загадываю желание и задуваю все свечи. В конце вечеринки все мы выходим на улицу и запускаем фейерверки.

Наши семейные традиции. В каждой семье существуют свои традиции. Семейные традиции – это то, что переходит в семье от одного поколения к другому; это то, что объединяет всех членов семьи, делая их жизнь радостной и интересной. Традиции сближают семью, делают ее настоящей крепостью, где каждый чувствует себя уверенно и защищенно. В нашей семье, а она у нас большая: мама, папа, сестра, брат, еще один брат, я, и, конечно же, многочисленные родственники – тоже есть свои семейные традиции. по воскресеньям мы печем блины, садимся всей большой дружной семьей за круглый стол, пьём чай с мёдом и обсуждаем события прошедшей недели. Общение с близкими людьми – самые светлые минуты в моей жизни.И это незабываемо!.. А как мы любим летними вечерами всей семьёй совершать прогулки на велосипедах.Отмечать праздники в кругу семьи – тоже наша традиция, о которой я и хочу рассказать. Не зря говорят: «Как встретишь Новый год, так его и проживёшь». Праздник Нового года – самый яркий праздник в нашей семье. Готовиться к празднику мы начинаем заранее. Мы, дети, пишем письма-пожелания Деду Морозу, а потом с мамой придумываем сценарий праздника, разучиваем стихи. Когда папа приносит домой пушистую ёлку, пахнущую хвоей, и ставит её по среди комнаты, мы дружно начинаем её украшать. И вот наступает вечер 31 декабря. Уже накрыт праздничный стол, все одеты нарядно и красиво. И вдруг на улице раздаётся звон колокольчиков. Мы, как завороженные, ждём чуда. И чудо происходит! В комнату входят Дед Мороз с большим мешком подарков и Снегурочка. Начинается настоящее веселье. Наш веселый праздник продолжается весь вечер, а потом мы целый год с нетерпением опять ждём наступления Нового года… А ещё есть самая дорогая для меня традиция. Наступает вечер, все дела сделаны. Я подхожу к своей кровати, ложусь и, глядя на огонек ночника, жду маму.
